(<3 yous rodrigo) wish brittany was not having the time of her life in puerto rico and drinking/painting with me! (<3 yous gil) or maybe i wish i went there during break...whatever.

i need a job! wah wah! complain complain complain! people are absolutely nuts, did you know this? i finally got my hands on a copy of ghost world for 6$. now i can reread it for the 100th time. what the fuck is this about again?

looking forward to a weekend of:

my apt only has one bathroom [Mar. 9th, 2009|02:52 pm]
and my roommate is taking a shower, i need to pee so bad.

so, i figure i need to concentrate on something else, thus todays blog is born.

i'll title this "resolutions"

i'd like to be one of those people who says that they don't have new years resolutions, because usually people don't follow them, therefore making them a waste of time. I've had at least one resolution per year that i stick too, i should be proud of myself, really. my ways of thinking aren't always logical.

anyways, my resolution in 2007 was to learn how to roll the perfect joint. Needless to say, that skill came about when i moved back from england and was depressed. That was it that year. kinda pointless? maybe, maybe not. i'm not a huge smoker anymore but i just love the fact that i can do it.

2008 came along and i had two resolutions:
1.) stay out of trouble (i.e. any court situations/jail/bad people/hospitals)
-this worked, my lifestyle changed a lot this year, which i was happy about. basically it came down to thinking about my actions, and actually caring about life. i guess you can say, this was much more of a resolution compared to 2007. i say whatever, my state of mind changed, which is good, but i still value the pointless skill i desired to posses.
2.)learn to stencil
- saved my life in monterey, art therapy people. anyways, taught myself, great feeling.

so now it's 2009, what's it this year?
read. a lot.
so this is the actual point of the post, i've been reading a shit load. what have i read so far this year?
1.) IV- klosterman
2.) tank girl- hewett/martin
3.) bomb the suburbs- wimsatt
4.) i hope they serve beer in hell- max
5.) art and culture- greenburg
6.) tricked- robinson
7.) rip it up (black experience in rock n roll)- various authors

anyways, that's mixed in with a shit load of film theory essays, and hurrah, that's the list as of 3/9/2009.

im going to read (and actually finish this time) the picture of dorian gray next, and im still working on why i hate saturn by baker (i usually read graphic novels at the same time i'm reading something else.) dorian gray will be the first fiction novel i will have picked up this year, i'm much more of a non-fiction reader. wilde is clever enough to keep my attention though, from what i remember.... (lets hope so).

so, as always there's not much reason to this post, just things i have been thinking about. the bathroom is probably open now, i'm gonna use that.

And we're just like, how Rousseau depicts man in the state of nature:
We're undeveloped, we're ignorant, we're stupid, but we're happy.

Janaye,

My firstclass calendar is up to date if you want to schedule a meeting with me to go over the gear.

Great job directing yesterday. You really took control and it showed on the footage.

Hi Chris!

I was wondering if you had some spare time next week to go into the lab & help me with lighting and setting audio levels? I think I understand the basic concept, but i don't feel completely comfortable yet. Thanks in advance!
